Ian Tattersall

Ian Tattersall is curator in the Division of Anthropology at the American Museum of Natural History, where he created the popular Hall of Human Biology and Evolution, and Adjunct Professor at Columbia University & CUNY Graduate School. An expert on fossil humans and lemurs, he has guided archaeological tours around the world. Tattersall is the author of The Monkey in the Mirror: Essays on the Science of What Makes Us Human, and co-author of Extinct Humans and Human Origins: What Bones and Genomes Tell Us about Ourselves, among other books. He lives in New York City.
